UK energy sector landscapes – have your say

Published: 5 February 2021

The Prime Minister’s 10-point plan published in November 2020 outlines the UK’s commitment to implementing a range of technologies and tackling the decarbonisation of particular sectors to reach our net zero target by 2050.

Of the sectors highlighted, Energy Systems Catapult has selected three, and produced Energy Landscapes to showcase the exciting UK innovation and supply chain in these areas.  The selected sectors are:

  • Electric Vehicle (EV)
  • Hydrogen
  • Smart Heating & Cooling

Have your say

We are calling on UK businesses to review the infographic to confirm if they have been classified correctly or identified at all, before engaging with our Energy Launchpad team to suggest any changes or omissions. If you feel you fit the profile for this Landscape, and would like to appear on it please complete the form here.

Consultation for this Landscape closes on 26 February.

Hydrogen Landscape

We recognise the hydrogen sector is constantly evolving and fast-growing, therefore we have taken a different approach in creating our Hydrogen Landscape. We have created a taxonomy for the landscape, in collaboration with the Hydrogen Accelerator at University of St Andrews, identifying 38 subsectors within:

  • Production technologies
  • Storage
  • Distribution & transportation
  • Applications
  • Safety
  • Finance
Where do you fit?

We are calling on UK businesses to review the infographic with our proposed taxonomy to suggest any additional subsectors which can be incorporated and to identify where they should be classified in the landscape, before engaging with our Energy Launchpad team to suggest any updates. If you feel you fit the profile for this Landscape, and would like to appear on it please complete the form here.

Consultation for this Landscape closes on 26 February.
